Solitaire and his Mouse

Solitaire the face of innocence, but see below, to see if this is just a mask!

He was introduced to a new toy last weekend, one of those with balls inside a ring and a lovely bright coloured mouse on top - enough for at least two small kittens like him to play with together. But rather than share it with his sister and brothers, Solitaire decided he would play with everything at once, so his paws were doing one thing and his mouth came in handy for the mouse! When anyone else tried to play, he turned the toy upside down - Naughty Solitaire!

Solitaire will make a great companion for either a family or someone who loves a cuddle cat, because whilst he loves playing, he is the first to jump on our knees for one-to-one attention!

He is such a gorgeous pixiebob kitten and we expect him to develop into a mighty handsome adult cat! True to his fantastic heritage!

Please contact me for further information.

Ooops - Ludo is a Little Girl!

The four boys visited the vet for their first injections - to find that actually they were three boys and a girl! Ludo, the little one who was mouse size born, has been encouraged to feed more regularly than normal to ensure 'he' caught up with 'his' brothers - now I find that I have reared a female version of 'Rambo' due to my efforts! Ooops!

Please remember that Ludo and 'her' brothers are available to pet or show homes. They will be ready to leave for their new families in just over three weeks!

Boys,Boys, Boys!

Naughty Cherokee decided to let Shadow out - 9 weeks later we had an unplanned brood of four mid/long haired boys arrive on the 10th July 2011 (see recent photos below)

These little fellas are now coming up to 9 weeks old and are looking for pet homes with suitable new parents - we may consider placing one of the 'bob-tails' into a show home as we intend to show one baby ourselves. Lets introduce you to our new quartet;

Domino
, a long-tailed, dark haired 'bruiser' of a kitten with legs like tree trunks and a rolling gait that would make any pixiebob proud. He is definitely the 'thug' of the bunch! He is always looking for the best places to jump on his brothers and catch them unaware! Its also far too 'uncool' for him to be picked up and cuddled, so he waits until he thinks I'm not looking and then he sneaks up onto the settee besides me and cuddles up. Maybe he thinks that if he closes his eyes and he can't see me, that I can't see him either!

DOMINO

Lexicon, a bob-tailed mini 'Shadow' - already showing promise for the show halls. I think we should have called him 'jumping jack' because he has a funny habit of springing up with legs as stiff and straight as telegraph poles, with his back arched and literally bouncing across the floor, forwards... and backwards! I just wish I had that energy! However he also likes pampering, and is the first on the scene when the hairdryer gets switched on! No wonder drying my hair takes twice as long, because its a quick gust for him and a gust for me!

LEXICON - RESERVED/UNDER EVALUATION

Solitaire, another long-tail has a striking face and showing promise of a very distinct coat colour - much more rufus toned than his brothers. He likes to greet me on a morning, supervises me cleaning the litter trays out, washing/disinfecting the floors, cleaning their bowls - and its only when I've done my chores under his watchful eye, that he goes away to play with his brothers. I'm not sure if he likes to ensure I have company or if he's just checking that everythings up to standard!

SOLITAIRE

Ludo, a naughty faced kitten, is learning to frown his best for the show scene! Mouse sized born, he has now exceeded some of his brothers in the size war! He has a wonderful short hockey-stick tail - a distinct curved little affair! This stocky little chap is too cute for words - especially when he's trying out his spitting techniques! A spitting ball of fuzz, how frightening is that!

Please don't hesitate to contact me for any further information. Claire x

Whisper & Breeze looking so grown up!

Whisper's legs just keep getting longer, and at the moment he's looking tall and sleek! He struts his stuff like the man on the block, but when he's tired he cries like the baby he is, and just wants to be lifted up for a cuddle - normally on his back like a human baby!

Our adorable little Breeze, who has been left behind now in the size stakes, may only be a mini-bob compared to her brother, but is just the cutest pixie bob ever. (The photographs make her look much larger than she is!)

Both babies are still looking for new mums/dads. Handales pet prices are equitable to other foundation breeders here in the UK; breeders that continue to invest in importing and strengthening the blood lines and the quality of kittens available in the UK. We will not compromise on either, or our breeding ethics, therefore this is reflected in the higher price of top quality pixie bob kittens and the small number of kittens available to homes from our program.

More of the Dinky Duo!

Breeze looks so serious, but not for long; she was soon licking her lips when she saw her tin of Applaws tuna being opened!

Whisper is impersonating his older half-brother Ember here, and hiding his long tail just so that he does a better job of it! He wasn't really stalking though - he was just sussing out the comfiest place to snooze on the sofa!

I'm pleased someone likes it...because I think its anything but comfy! What an expensive cat bed! x

Breeze & Whisper at 9 Weeks

The kittens turned 9 weeks yesterday so this week everything changes for them; they leave their mum and they go on their first trip to the vets for their vaccinations. Poor babies! Never mind, I promise they will have lots of cuddles and kisses to help them through this! As for mum Kiri, I'm sure she's ready for the peace!

Breeze is quite the naughty girl - always leading her brother astray! She has taught him how to slide down the bannister rail, Our hearts are always in our mouths! When she gets told off, her eyes widen, as if to say "surely you can't be talking to me?" She reminds me very much of her big sister Briar in personality, but looks very much like her other sister, Thorn (see our Queens web page). Anyone wishing to be Breeze's new mum/dad, should be prepared to play all day! However when she gets tired, she climbs up on your knee and then its cuddle time!

Breeze trying to look as mean as she possibly can even though she's only a wee thing!

and
Whisper try to look as innocent as he can with a wide-eye expression!

Whisper still as fabulous as ever! He has to be one of the most handsome Handale babies to date! I cannot wait to see how he develops! He isn't as innocent as he tries to make out, but he is much calmer then his sister. He still likes to be laid on his back having his tummy tickled. Someone is going to get a super pet!

Please e-mail or call me for any further information (see contact page for details)

Sweet Whisper

This little guy just keeps getting better! He is so handsome!

Whisper is looking for a forever pet home. He will soon be 6 weeks old and we hope that he finds a new family who will love him as much as we do.

Sleeping's a Breeze!

Breeze is a typical baby - when the sleepy eyes won't stay open any more, she just has to nod off no matter what she may be doing at the time. The photographs below capture just how quickly play turns into another snooze!

Breeze enjoyed playing peek-a-boo with her mice!

But it was soon far too tiring and so she found another use for them instead!

Goodnight Breezy! x

One Month Old!

I can hardly believe that our duo were one month old on Saturday! It only seems like five minutes ago that I was sat by the birthing box having kittens myself because our babies seemed to want to arrive legs first!

One month on and they're still causing trouble -Breeze was trying to make a 'great escape' from her room and Whisper was trying to climb up the back of the radiator. Once again the only thing that was on show were his legs!

Here's Breeze pretending that she's an innocent party in their 'double trouble' antics!

Whisper showing that there really is more to him than just his legs! He really has got the cutest face - one that requires us to kiss it frequently!

Should you feel that your breeding program, home and life may be enhanced by either baby, please don't hesitate to contact me for further information. However please be prepared for lots of questions, as finding the right home is so important to us.

Breeze & Whisper are Mobile!

We never thought it was going to happen as both babies tummies seemed to be getting in the way of walking! But Breeze took the plunge first in getting out of the box and a few days later Whisper followed. Now Breeze is exploring on sturdy little legs and Whisper is trying hard to keep up with her - but as the last picture shows, Whisper's tummy is still the sturdiest part about him!

Whisp & Breeze's First Photos

These photographs were taken two days ago.....the first of our special little babies; Whispering Wind & Spring Breeze. Both are adorable tubby tots! The gorgeous Whisp is available to a pet home and Breeze would make a fabulous addition to an established breeding program. Its just a shame we haven't room for her to stay here!

Breeze looking like big sister Thorn at this age, except Breeze is going to be much better!

What a cutie!

This little boy is just super, long tail and all!

Look at that amazing face!

Too full to move!

It is fascinating to see this tiny pair developing more and more each day, opening their eyes for the first time, blinking at their mum and following our voices around the room. They look at us and each other with sheer wonder, and now realise that by having each other they have a constant source of fun and naughtiness. Breeze on wobbly legs knows that if she aims right, she can bite her brother's tail and Whisp likes nothing better than nipping the end of her nose! They are so funny, and after they have finished their antics and have drunk all of the milk they can fit into their small round tums, they cuddle up together and fall back into the land of nod.

Two little sleepy heads!

I will post more pictures soon, so you can all enjoy their development with me. x

New Arrivals!

We welcome two new arrivals who were safely delivered on Saturday to Kiri & Spirit. This is Kiri's last litter before being spayed and therefore these are two very important little bundles. We think we have a bob-tailed female (Spring Breeze, aka Breeze) and a long-tailed male (Whispering Wind, aka Whisp). I think Whisp should be 'Whizz' because thats what's he's like; despite being so tiny if you blink you miss him, because he's gone - normally in the direction of the entrance hole in the birthing box! Its a good job Breeze is much quieter.

Both kittens show signs of dad's distinct coat and wonderful face. I will post some photographs shortly. These kittens are available to pet or breeder homes.

No Kittens Available at Present

We have decided to keep Briar and Thorn here at Handale to join our breeding program when they are much older. They are exceptional kittens and we are excited to see how they develop and look forward to the future with them both. Please check our 'news' blog to keep updated on their progress.

We don't have many litters each year, but if you would like an opportunity of owning a Handale kitten, please contact us and we will be happy to take you details and notify you of future 'arrivals'. We hope to have at least one litter in the second half of the year.

Thank you for your enquiries to date.

Gorgeous Girls

These two stunning girls are just turning 16 weeks and are already displaying the wild beauty that Pixie Bobs are renowned for! Either girl is available as a high quality pet. Both have very different personalities; Briar is the most active kitten ever and very much 'in your face'. She must see everything that you're doing at close range, even if that means sitting on your shoulder as you're drying your hair. Thorn on the otherhand is a quiet and gently affectionate and has even visited a local nursing home to see a resident who was feeling a little unhappy - she's a real little sweetie!

Superb Girls from Kiri x Spirit

One of our baby girls is available for a loving pet home - we still plan to keep whichever kitten is not selected as we love them equally. Both are vaccinated, microchipped and at 14 weeks of age, are in a position to leave us immediately.

Thorn

Stunningly beautiful, Thorn has very tall lynx tips to her ears and random spotting over her coat. She has that wild look that takes your breath away, and sometimes you have to remember that she is domesticated!

Briar

Briar too is a wild looking girl, but very different to her sister. She has a very distinct look which I believe comes from her Springcreek lines. Because she's constantly running round, its very difficult to get good photographs of her, so I will keep trying. This is a very rare occasion to see her sitting still!
